2004 Hewitt Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon (USA, California, Napa Valley, Rutherford)
Yes it's dark. Yes it's opaque. The nose is pure black currant with black cherry jam. Some licorice and violets are in that mix. Palate shows some plushiness with abundant black fruits for 3 wines. Pretty and pure with poise and balance. Currants, cola, black cherries, blackberries and Kirsch with some slight hints of cedar, espresso bean and tobacco. There may be a slight note of dryness right beyond the mid-point. This really is a great Cabernet nonetheless. One I wish I had more of... 92 pts
